Homemade 3 Musketeers Bars
Ingredients:
6 cups milk chocolate chips, divided
8 oz Cool Whip, thawed
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable shortening
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chocolate Layer:
Melt 3 cups of milk chocolate chips and 1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and completely melted.
Pour the melted chocolate into a 9×13-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper, spreading it evenly to create the base layer.
Place the dish in the refrigerator to set for about 20 minutes.
2. Make the Nougat Layer:
In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the remaining 3 cups of milk chocolate chips. Again, use 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly, then gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip. Mix until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
Pour the nougat mixture over the set chocolate layer, spreading it evenly.
3. Finish with the Top Chocolate Layer:
Re-melt the initial chocolate mixture (if needed) to make it smooth again.
Pour the melted chocolate over the nougat layer, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
Refrigerate the dish for at least 1 hour or until the bars are fully set and firm.
4. Cut and Serve:
Once set, remove the bars from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
Lift the entire slab out of the baking dish using the parchment paper for easy handling.
Cut into desired bar sizes with a sharp knife.
Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator or a cool, dry place.
Enjoy your homemade 3 Musketeers Bars!
