Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
4 ½ cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
1 cup 7-Up or similar lemon-lime soda
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven & Prepare the Baking Dish
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven is heating, melt the ½ cup of butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the dish in the oven for a few minutes until the butter is completely melted. Once melted, carefully remove the dish from the oven and set it aside.
2. Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the 4 ½ cups of Bisquick baking mix with 1 cup of 7-Up soda. Stir gently until the mixture forms a soft dough. The dough will be sticky and slightly wet—this is normal.
3. Knead and Roll Out the Dough
Lightly flour a clean surface and turn out the dough onto it. Sprinkle a little extra Bisquick over the dough to prevent sticking. Gently knead the dough 3-4 times—do not overwork it, or the biscuits may become tough.
Roll or pat the dough to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness.
4. Cut the Biscuits
Use a round biscuit cutter or a drinking glass to cut out biscuits. Press straight down without twisting to ensure they rise evenly.
5. Coat the Biscuits with Butter
Place the cut biscuits directly into the melted butter in the baking dish. The butter will coat the bottoms and help create a rich, golden crust.
6. Bake the Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
7. Serve Warm & Enjoy!
Remove from the oven and let the biscuits rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite jam.
Tips for the Best Biscuits:
Use cold ingredients: Keep the 7-Up soda cold to help create a fluffy texture.
Don’t overmix: Stir just until combined to keep the dough light and airy.
For extra flakiness: You can refrigerate the dough for 10-15 minutes before cutting the biscuits.
Add flavor: Try adding shredded cheese, garlic powder, or herbs for a savory tw
ist.
