8 oz noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or rice noodles)
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
For Garnish:
Sliced green onions
Sesame seeds
Directions:
Prepare the Noodles:
Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Beef:
Toss the sliced beef with cornstarch to coat evenly. This helps create a tender texture.
Cook the Beef:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Stir-fry the beef in batches until browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry the bell peppers and onion until slightly softened but still crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
Make the Sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced ginger, garlic, and chili flakes. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce mixture.
Combine the Stir-Fry:
Return the beef to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and toss everything to coat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Add the cooked noodles and toss to combine with the beef and vegetables.
Serve:
Plate the noodle stir-fry and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for extra flavor.
