Herb-Marinated Mozzarella Recipe

 

Ingredients:

 

1/3 cup olive oil

 

1 tablespoon chopped oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes

 

1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

 

1 teaspoon dried basil

 

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

 

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

 

250g fresh mozzarella, cut into bite-sized cubes

 

 

Instructions:

 

1. Prepare the Marinade:

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the olive oil, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, minced parsley, dried basil, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir the mixture well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

 

 

2. Prepare the Mozzarella:

Cut the fresh mozzarella into bite-sized cubes if it isn’t already prepared. Pat the cubes dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. This will help the marinade adhere better to the cheese.

 

 

3. Combine Mozzarella and Marinade:

Add the mozzarella cubes to the bowl of marinade. Toss gently to coat all the pieces evenly. Ensure that the herbs and spices are distributed across the cheese cubes for maximum flavor.

 

 

4. Let It Marinate:

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the mixture to an airtight container. Place it in the refrigerator and allow the mozzarella to marinate for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours for a more intense flavor. Stir occasionally to redistribute the marinade.

 

 

5. Serve:

Remove the marinated mozzarella from the refrigerator about 10–15 minutes before serving to let it come to room temperature. Arrange the cubes on a serving platter or bowl, garnish with a fresh sprig of basil if desired, and serve as an appetizer.
