This creamy and flavorful Cilantro-Lime Avocado Salsa is perfect for pairing with tortilla chips, tacos, or any of your favorite dishes. It’s fresh, zesty, and easy to make at home with just a few ingredients. Follow the step-by-step instructions to create this delicious salsa!

Ingredients:

6 tomatillos (husks removed, washed)

1 jalapeño (optional, for added spice)

2 ripe avocados

1 cup fresh cilantro leaves (packed)

Juice of 2 limes (adjust to taste)

1 clove garlic (peeled)

1/4 cup water (adjust for desired consistency)

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Tomatillos:

Remove the husks from the tomatillos and rinse them thoroughly to remove any sticky residue.

Place the tomatillos in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Cook them for about 5–7 minutes, or until they turn a pale green and become slightly softened. Drain and allow them to cool.

2. Roast the Jalapeño (Optional):

For added flavor, you can roast the jalapeño on a stovetop or under a broiler until the skin is charred. Once roasted, remove the seeds for a milder salsa or leave them in if you prefer more heat.

3. Prepare the Avocados:

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop out the flesh into a blender or food processor.

4. Blend the Salsa:

Add the cooked tomatillos, roasted jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, water, and salt to the blender or food processor along with the avocado.

Blend everything together until smooth. Taste and adjust the seasoning or lime juice as needed.

5. Adjust Consistency:

If the salsa is too thick, add a little more water until you reach your desired consistency.

6. Chill and Serve:

Transfer the salsa to a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve chilled with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, or as a dip for veggies.

Tips for the Perfect Salsa:

For extra tanginess, add a small amount of white vinegar or more lime juice.

If you want a smoky flavor, try adding a small pinch of smoked paprika or chipotle powder.

Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Enjoy this versatile and delicious Cilantro-Lime Avocado Salsa that’s sure to impress your family and friends!
